Think Like a Scientist

One of my favorite activities for early in the year is to spend some time thinking about what a scientist really is. Take just a moment and try to get a picture of a scientist in your head. What do you think of? When I think of a scientist I like to think of an Echo Loder student! Why? Well because a scientist is really just someone who asks questions and then tries to find the answers. Sometimes they look for answers by doing experiments or by researching their question online or in books. Other times they might find their answers by talking with other scientists or experts in their field. So really, anyone can be a scientist! Especially you! One other thing that scientists do is to write down their questions and what they find out as they work to answer them. This year, try to think about yourself like a scientist. I think you'll see that it's easier to be a scientist than you might have thought!
