Check out this video of a rocket sled that NASA is using to test spacecraft design in California! The sled accelerates the test vehicle up to supersonic (faster than sound) speeds to simulate what conditions would be like for a spacecraft landing on Mars or other destinations. The purpose of the sled is to test parachutes and other types of braking technologies that could be used by spacecraft in the future. Can you imagine what it would be like to work at the test facility? Talk about a cool job in science!
