Did you know that Nevada's state fossil is the Ichthyosaur? Here's a picture of an icthyosaur fossil! The icthyosaur lived in Nevada millions of years ago when most of Nevada was covered by an ancient lake. Towards the middle of Nevada, south of Fallon is Berlin-Icthyosaur State Park. Many icthyosaur fossils have been found there and many of them are on display for visitors to view. The park is only open during the spring and summer months but if you are looking for something fun to do over our next break it makes a cool trip to take with your family. Here is a link to the park's brochure for more information including how to get there!
